Evgeniy M. Smirnov
head of the division, full professor, Ph. D. in Pedagogy.
After graduating a school he worked as a welder at the Factory of household appliances in Baku. From 1961 to 1964 he served at the army on the boundary of Iran. In 1968 he graduated Leningrad State Institute of Culture and obtained a speciality "Librarian-bibliographer". Since 1968 to 1972 Evgeny M. Smirnov worked as an instructor, head of division of informatics and the deputy of the dean of Library-knowledge faculty at East-Siberian State Institute of Culture (Ulan-Ude, Russia). In 1975 after graduating postgraduate studies of Leningrad State Institute of Culture he returned to Ulan-Ude where he worked as a head of division of informatics until 1985.
In 1983 Eugeny M. Smirnov has protected the dissertation for the degree of Ph. D. in Pedagogy. Since 1985 he works at Omsk branch of Altai State Institute of Culture and Arts. He is the head of division of library-knowledge and bibliography. In 1988 Evgeny. M. Smirnov became a professor, in 1995 he was elected as a head of the division.
Scientific interests: history of books, bibliology, social communications. 198 works of Eugeniy M. Smirnov was published in 19 countries, namely in "Encyclopedia of bibliography" (Portugal), in scientific collections of USA, England, Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, Germany, Cuba.
