    Tatjana B. Smirnova was born May 19, 1963. She graduated the history faculty in Omsk State University in 1985. Since 1988 she has been working at the chair of ethnography in OmSU. From 1991 to 1995 she had been studing on the post-graduate courses in OmSU. In 1995  she defended a candidate's thesis "Современные этнические процессы у немцев Западной Сибири" in the Institute of arheology and ethnography Siberian branch Russian Akademy of Science (Novosibirsk).

    Tatjana is a leader scientifically - research labs. of ethnography and histories of germans of Siberia. She is the Member to International assotiations of researchers of history and cultures of russia germans. She took part in  work 7 scientific conferences. Tatjana is the chief of German troop to ethnographic expeditions OmSU since 1989.

    The field of her science interests is traditional culture and modern ethnics condition of germans of West Siberia. Tatjana it the author more than 40 scientific works.
